Winter Solstice w/Stone Brewing
December 21, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Since Stone Brewing re-emerged in the Wisconsin market last year, they’ve brought the fire pretty consistently with revamped recipes of classics and a steady stream of new releases. We dig it. And though the brewery made its bones early on specializing in over-the-top hoppy beers, they know their way around a strong ale or stout. So we figured they were the perfect partners to help us lift some of the gloom from the shortest day of 2017.
On December 21st, we’ll be tapping five of Stone’s bigger, darker offerings. Some, you’ve had. At least one, you almost definitely haven’t. Get here early, or don’t. It’ll be dark either way.
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant Bastard – 8.1% ABV
Stone’s classic American strong ale, aged on bourbon barrels.
Xocoveza – 8.1% ABV
This mega-spiced imperial milk stout has quickly become a seasonal staple, brewed with cocoa, coffee, pasilla peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Neapolitan Dynamite – 8.5% ABV
Get it? GET IT?! Imperial stout brewed with coffee, vanilla, strawberries, and chocolate.
Farking Wheaton W00tstout 2017 – 13% ABV
Brewed with Will Wheaton and Drew Curtis, 25% of this gargantuan stout was aged in bourbon barrels, then blended back into the base beer. It also features flaked rye for a bit of spiciness, wheat for a soft body, and pecans for…pecan flavor.
Fyodor’s Classic – 13.5% ABV
Stone recently, at least temporarily, discontinued their standard Russian Imperial Stout. Lucky for us, they held some back to age in bourbon barrels. With espresso. What WHAT.
