Old World vs. New World w/Merchant du Vin Importers
May 4, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Another year, another tradition.
One of our most popular Craft Beer Week events over the last few years has been our Old World vs. New World tasting, courtesy of Merchant du Vin Importers. We’ll be tasting several classic examples of common European beer styles, followed by some modern counterparts from the good ole USA. The idea is to chart the evolution of these styles, to get a better idea of where they came from, and where they might be heading.
Reps from Merchant du Vin and Specialty Beverage will be on hand to present their beer in a blind tasting format and all will vote on their favorite at the end of each round.
We have finalized the match-ups, so check ’em out:
Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout vs. New Holland Poet
Lindeman’s Cuvee Renee vs. The Bruery Rueuze
Rochefort 10 vs. Destihl Quad
Westmalle Tripel vs. Victory Golden Monkey
Orval vs. Perennial Aria
Traquair Jacobite Ale vs. Founders Dirty Bastard
Cost is $20/person, and tasting starts at 6pm! Reservations needed, so call us to reserve your spot at 608-255-8500.
