Great Taste Pre-Party w/Perennial Artisan Ales
August 7, 2015 @ 4:00 pm
Friday, August 7th – 4pm to Midnite
Join us for a Great Taste Pre-party with our friends at Perennial Artisan Ales out of St. Louis. Perennial focuses on hand-crafted, small batches of beer. Their beers are influenced mostly by Belgian and American craft styles, but the addition of premium ingredients such as fruits, spices or wild yeast strains sometimes causes the beers to defy traditional categories. Their barrel aging program features a wide variety of beers aged in wine and spirits barrels. On this night, we will be pouring 8 of their wonderful brews, many that are normally only available in their tasting room. Here is the lineup:
Maman – Tapping at 7pm
Just added – Imperial Stout aged in Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey Barrels!!
Abraxas
One of the beers that put Perennial on the map, this imperial stout is augmented with cinnamon sticks, ancho chiles, and cacao nibs. Your new favorite thing, like, ever.
Savant Beersel – Tapping at 5pm
A wild-fermented (100% brettanomyces) Belgian-style ale aged for seven months with Missouri-grown wine grapes in French oak cabernet barrels.
Fantastic Voyage
Imperial milk stout with cocoa nibs and coconut. We promise we’ll tell the staff to not drink it all.
Suburban Beverage
Gose-style ale brewed with salt, orange peel, lemon peel and key lime juice from Brewer Andy Hille. The ideal drink after a long summer day working in the yard, picking the kids up from soccer practice, or a taking the dog for a walk. Tart and refreshing, it will certainly make you feel alright.
Saison de Lis
Full bodied yet light farmhouse ale brewed with chamomile flowers.
Regalia – Inspired by the rustic farmhouse-style Saisons of Southern Belgium, Regalia is brewed with barley, wheat and spelt and fermented with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and Brettanomyces Anomala. A sturdy malt character supports the complex array of flavors that the yeast provides, and will continue to develop over time.
Mon Ami
Mon Ami is our collaboration with our good friends at 2nd Shift Brewing. We took a classic route on this as it is inspired by the great golden strong ales of Belgium. Its simplicity on paper–Pilsner malt, table sugar, German hops, hardened water, and yeast–belie its complexity in the glass. Mon Ami pours burnished gold with a tightly beaded white head. Aromas of pear, banana, and orange combine with spicy alcohol and Hallertau hops.
Stefon
Perennial Artisan Ales and Solemn Oath Brewery’s hottest new collaboration beer is Stefon. Spicy rye malt, subtle notes of stone fruit, a hint of roast, slightly tart with a dry finish and conditioned with Brettanomyces anomalus. This beer has EVERYTHING.
Many of the Perennial brewers and staff will be on hand to chat about their beers and share a beer with you, so come down and join us.
Also that day, we will be tapping a few cool kegs from our cellar that we have been holding on to for a while that represent the unique and special beers that we always have pouring here. Check back soon for the list!
